Yesterday at this time, I was sitting at home wondering whether the rubber band of routine had snapped back.
See, I launched my Year by the Water four years ago this week.
I loved the variety and novelty of those travels, never knowing what was around the next corner, what might unfold the following day.
I’m in one place now, and even though I promised myself I wouldn’t, I’ve “settled” into routines.
In particular, the routine of filling my calendar. What’s that about?
Then I saw a quote from Tony Robbins who said, “If you’ve made a decision and haven’t taken an action, you haven’t made a decision.”
I made a decision.
I asked myself, “If you miss adventure so much, what are you going to do about it?
What is a place nearby I haven’t explored before?
How about the Broadmoor and the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs?”
I jumped online and discovered they were only 1 hour and 52 minutes away.
I made a decision and took action.
It took me five minutes to throw my gear in my backpack, and a couple hours later, I was exploring this fabulous place, reveling in the fall leaves and mountain air, thrilled that everything I saw was new.
How about you?
What is a place nearby you haven’t explored before?
Why not make a decision, take an action?
Adventure awaits.
A better life – a life that feels right – is a decision and an action away.
